I had CNN on when Thomas woke up from his nap today. I was watching the inauguration and folding laundry when he came around the corner and said, "Mama, I'm awake from my nap now." He turned and looked at the TV and I was sure I would hear, "Can we watch Wall-E, or, can we watch cartoons?" Instead, he sat down in front of the television, with all the lights off, cross-legged, and watched the procession of bands saluting our new leader. When he asks one day, I can tell him that we watched this day in history together. I'll tell him he came with me to vote in this election.1.20.2009

Ah- what a beautiful moment! One for you and Thomas and one for our country! The kids and I watched it and we stood as the anthem was sung. We practiced putting our hands over our hearts. I LOVED that moment, planting that seed of patriotism and love for our country. Love you, JB
