Upon return from a crazy weekend in Little Rock I decided that even though exhausted from Milton family Christmas, being in a wedding, sharing a full-size bed for three nights and just plain weary from traveling, that since I'd had to be away from my boys so much that weekend we'd do something fun and get some quality time together. We got in Sunday afternoon and after the boys napped, we had a blast putting this gingerbread house together.
I don't get the credit for baking the gingerbread. I bought a super cool kit and that is what allowed it to be a fun and not stressful experience. Thomas was such a helper. We emptied out all the candies in the container they came in and we had to knead the icing to loosen it up and he helped with both very important tasks. Christian stepped in to help me with the all important roof. I had to stabilize the walls while he held the roof in place for 45 quick-drying seconds. After that, voila! We had a bonafide gingerbread house with edible decorations to last for days.
