Haiti's Worst Day

Here we all are, tucked comfortably into our towns, where we fret over things like the inconvenience of road construction or missing our favorite TV show. If we're thirsty, we get up and turn on a faucet, filling our cup in a matter of seconds. If we're sick, we make a phone call to our doctor or clinic for little or no cost. If we're tired from a long day, we go to bed.

Most Haitians and relief workers have none of these things.

There is no government right now. There is not enough jet fuel for the planes landing to bring supplies. They are barricading roads with dead bodies and picking up the dead in garbage trucks. This should make your stomach turn.

It's not that we should feel guilty for the ease of our lives, but, we should never take it for granted either. Remember Haiti. Consider giving.

Also, you can copy and paste this to your Facebook, Twitter or in an email to friends to make giving to the Red Cross as easy as possible: Text the word 'Haiti' to 90999 to donate $10 to the Red Cross. A one time $10 charge will be added to your next phone bill.
